'My Child' Neurodiversity Screener with Report (For children and young people aged 5 – 19)
The 'My Child' Neurodiversity Screener is a research backed and evidence based early-stage tool designed to help children, young people, parents and professionals begin to explore patterns in learning, behaviour, communication and everyday experiences. It supports early understanding of whether traits associated with neurodivergent profiles such as dyslexia, dyspraxia, autism and ADHD may be present, and whether further exploration or support could be helpful.
A starting point for understanding
This is not a diagnostic tool. It is an effective, structured first step to support curiosity, highlight potential areas of difference, and open up more informed conversations about wellbeing, learning and development.
It can be completed by parents, teachers, or young people themselves to help make sense of experiences that may have previously felt confusing or difficult to explain.
Simple and accessible
The screener uses straightforward yes/no questions, encouraging instinctive responses rather than overthinking. Each question is linked to recognised neurodivergent traits, with results mapped across four profiles:
- Dyslexia
- Dyspraxia / Developmental Coordination Differences
- Autism
- ADHD
The outcomes indicate the strength of trait alignment and whether further exploration may be beneficial. They are designed to guide understanding and next steps, not provide diagnosis or labels.
Supporting understanding and next steps
Following completion, the screener is used to produce a clear written report and one-page guidance for education settings, alongside recommendations for adaptive approaches, support, strategies and reasonable adjustments.
